Darren is the CEO of Lincoln Pensions. He trained as a Chartered Accountant with the insolvency team at Deloitte in the mid-1990s. He joined Close Brothers in its corporate finance (M&A) division in 1998 becoming a Managing Director in 2006. Following a secondment to The Pensions Regulator, he founded Close Brothers’ pensions advisory business. In 2007 he founded the London office of Lincoln International, an investment bank, comprising corporate finance and pensions advisory services (Lincoln Pensions). In 2016, Lincoln Pensions became part of the Cardano Group, a specialist investment firm. Lincoln Pensions continues to have a strategic alliance with Lincoln International (where Darren also serves as a Senior Advisor to its global business).
In his role Darren spends the majority of his time on client matters and has extensive expertise in UK pensions matters particularly in the context of M&A, reorganisations, corporate transactions and regulatory investigations. He regularly serves as an expert witness on covenant matters and has worked on complex enforcement cases involving the Pensions Regulator. In addition, Darren has advised on multiple M&A transactions in a variety of industries including public offers, hostile takeovers, public and private company acquisitions and other equity raisings, restructurings and re-financings – this experience can prove invaluable to clients of Lincoln Pensions involved in similar scenarios.← Back to list
