Alex is a Director at Lincoln Pensions, and has over six years’ experience advising on employer covenant and related matters. He joined Lincoln Pensions in January 2017 from PwC’s covenant advisory practice. Alex is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
His recent assignments include:
- Advising a UK sponsor on an innovative flexible funding arrangement which provides security for members, whilst reducing the risk of overfunding the scheme;
- Reviewing a Flexible Apportionment Arrangement which removes risks to members arising from the rules of the scheme;
- Helping trustees to understand the impact of M&A activity on their employer covenant, options to mitigate the detriment caused to the covenant, and the consequences for the scheme’s longer-term journey plan
During 2015, Alex was seconded as a Business Analyst to the Pensions Regulator, reviewing completed triennial valuations, pro-active engagements, and clearance applications. Whilst there, he co-wrote the Pensions Regulators guidance on ‘Assessing and Monitoring the Employer Covenant’ which was released in 2015.
Alex sits on Lincoln Pensions’ Integrated Risk Management committee.
