Alex is a Director at Lincoln Pensions. He joined in January 2017 having spent four years as part of PwC’s covenant advisory practice. Alex is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Recent significant projects include advising a US management team on the impact of M&A activity on the employer covenant of their UK DB pensions plans (including actions which could be taken to avoid or mitigate detriment), and working with trustees, advisors and sponsor of a new DB plan to understand the covenant as a first step in implementing an integrated approach to managing pension scheme risk. For the last 18 months, Alex has also advised trustees on the long-term viability of their plan following an innovative pensions restructuring.
During 2015, Alex completed a secondment as a Business Analyst at The Pensions Regulator involved in reviewing a wide range of triennial valuations (including pro-active engagements) and clearance applications. Whilst there, he co-wrote the Pensions Regulators guidance on ‘Assessing and Monitoring the Employer Covenant’ which was released in 2015.
